AIM West Day 1: Thank you to the storytellers!

By Brenda Norrell Censored News SAN FRANCISCO -- A special thank you to everyone who spoke today at the AIM West Conference in San Francisco on mascots in sports; tarsands; water rights, and more. It is a wonderful reminder of how a life well lived can live on in the stories of the storytellers. A special thanks to the elders who shared their stories and insights from lives well lived, including Webster Arthur, Nez Perce residing on Pyramid Lake Paiute, Henry Dominguez, cofounder of the Black Berets, Bill Means and Clyde Bellecourt of AIM, Jean Whitehorse, Dine', Wesley Elliott, Tuscarora, Iroquois Confederacy, and all the others who have lived such rich lives. Thanks to William Underbaggage, Lakota, for the interview on authentic media and to Kris Longoria for the talk on sports mascots and the upcoming protest on Sunday. Thank you to Lori Riddle for sharing the struggles of the O'odham at Gila River. Far from being just words, sharing the power of the fearless actions of the Iroquois Confederacy in the north, Wesley Elliott, Tuscarora, pressed the need for real action. There are many more powerful talks in the videos from today. The videos of today are in the Video Library, below the Earthcycles livestream. We'll be live again on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, the second day of speakers at AIM West.
