“Liberation Day” event will commemorate the 42nd anniversary that began at Wounded Knee
At the Inter-tribal Friendship House, 523 International Boulevard, in Oakland on Friday, February 27. The “Liberation Day” event will commemorate the 42nd anniversary that began at Wounded Knee, South Dakota in February 27, 1973. The event will also include special guest speaker, and Wounded Knee veteran, Len Foster (Dine/Navajo) & Jessie Riddle (Pit River Nation). The occasion is also an opportunity to raise attention about the case of political prisoner Leonard Peltier. A potlatch and music performance offered by Sampson Wolf is included in the evenings agenda. The program should be open at 6 pm and starts at 7 pm until 10 pm. Everyone invited!
