In this radio segment of "Across Indian Land" on "La Onda Bajita" at KPFA 94.1 fm http://www.kpfa.org/archive/id/111432, last night I was able to have in the studio Ms. Jessie Riddle, a Wounded Knee veteran, to talk about the 42nd anniversary of the American Indian Movement (AIM) to be held in Oakland at Inter-Tribal Friendship House on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Len Foster, will be there, too! (Len, Wounded Knee vet) is also spiritual advisor to political prisoner Leonard Peltier. Also on the phone Chase Iron Eyes, attorney with South Dakota Law Project, calls in from Rapid City, South Dakota to talk to us about a case of racism, another hate-crime, and reduced merely to a misdemeanor! He speaks also about the mascot issue in Sisseton, South Dakota, and a rally to be held today, Saturday, there and with AIM co-founder Clyde Bellecourt, Thunder Before The Storm, the community and youth. I briefly announced the details for the memorial and celebration service for Tomas Reyes, to be held at IFH in Oakland, Saturday, February 28 from 12-4 pm. Everyone welcome; All Nation Singers, Traditional Danzantes, special AIM guests, Potlatch, bring food to share, no sodas, please...well pan dulce y cafe, orale! Stay tuned, see you again, "Across Indian Land" your host, Tony Gozales www.AIM-West.org
